Chapter 3 - Food and Sharing

I love to cook. More specifically, I love the things you learn about a culture by cooking their food.

For example, German recipes are very specific with their recipes. When I make Schweinshaxe, a classic German dish, I’ve learned to use scales to weigh out the precise measure of ingredients in the recipe, as the Germans do.

When cooking Chinese food, I seek out the specific chili ingredients in Chinatown and act on instinct, using my imagination.

As a young working professional, I also enjoy cooking pasta, the quintessential meal for a city-dweller: fast, simple and delicious.

I want to bring my passion to campus by organizing monthly events in which we share food with classmates from their respective cultures. Through our culinary interactions, we will share, connect, and explore not only our own cultures but Cornell Community together!
